The after
school program is scheduled daily for the next five years. All equipment
is provided rackets, balls, and nets.

AFTER SCHOOL TENNIS PROGRAM at MIDDLE SCHOOLS

YES tennis instruction
is free of charge to all students.

Students admitted based
on teachers recommendation, guardian consent and personal choice.

Students
participates at the after school tutorial program, practices and weekend activities during the school year. Summer programs
are available all day.

Tennis program includes
specific instruction, drills, strategies and game preparation. The program
also includes a curriculum of drug awareness, nutrition and fitness related
issues for better health amongst teens.

Program collaborates
with the academic tutorial instruction to further educational curriculum.

Students receive written
report covering, skill development, efforts, academic and athletic progress.
Progress is monitored by the teacher and the instructor for the improvement
of student.
PROGRESSION SCHEDULE
- Students are grouped by
ability levels: beginner,
intermediate and advanced
- Beginning phase consist of forehand,
backhand, service, volleys, overhead and keeping score.
- Development phase consist of
strategies, advanced strokes and skills and competitive play.
- Advanced phase consist of advanced
strategies, skill implementation of all around strokes and advanced
tournament play
- Tournament play at the end of each
term. The most improved student receives wild card to the annual sanctioned
tournament.
- Jack Kramer Junior Tournament at the
Burbank Tennis Center.
- Carnival Tennis
Festivities every October.
